Step into the fragrant world of French perfumery in this two-hour hands-on workshop in the heart of Paris, close to the Ile Saint-Louis. The session opens with a quiz that unpacks the history of perfume and the mysteries of how a fragrance is composed. You then smell your way through around 12 different fragrances before choosing your favourites and blending two or three of them, drawn from a collection of 26, in a graduated glass. Your host helps you adjust the quantities until the balance is yours, whether that turns out to be oud and rose, lavender and vetiver, or iris, cedar, and wild herbs. You take home a 50ml spray bottle of the result.
